07 July 2011 thank you sir for giving me your time and giving a polite answer. i know terms like stocks, shares, derivates, forex etc. i keep on looking on sites like NSE, BSE but i get totally confused there. is it meant only for those who have money in there pockets

12 July 2011 No its not so, it mean that you can start business only after you have money. stock market is a subject that comes only after keep efforting, go through magzines, read finance newspapers, know more about companies their fundamentals, performance. one day you will find that yes, i got what i wanted.

13 January 2015 Can you please guide on IFRS certification course. Whether IFRS certification from IACT is valuable and recognised in market.

Is there any need of doing IFRS if i am side by side doing CS.

03 August 2024 The International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) certification is valuable for professionals seeking to deepen their understanding of global accounting standards and enhance their career opportunities in finance and accounting. Here’s a guide to help you understand the value of IFRS certification and whether it complements your pursuit of a Company Secretary (CS) qualification:

### 1. **IFRS Certification from IACT:**

**1.1. **Value and Recognition:**

- **IACT Certification:** The International Association of Corporate Professionals (IACT) offers IFRS certification programs. While the reputation of IACT may vary, it is important to assess whether their certification is widely recognized and respected in your region or industry. Generally, certifications from well-known and established institutions (e.g., ACCA, ICAI) are more recognized globally.

- **Market Recognition:** The recognition of IFRS certification can depend on factors such as the institution's reputation, the certification’s comprehensiveness, and how it aligns with industry standards. Researching reviews, industry feedback, and the institution's standing in the professional community can provide insights into its value.

**1.2. **Course Content and Quality:**

- **Curriculum:** Ensure the course covers key IFRS standards and practical applications. A comprehensive program should include coverage of major IFRS principles, financial reporting requirements, and practical case studies.

- **Accreditation:** Check if the course is accredited by a recognized body or if it aligns with international accounting standards. Accreditation often adds credibility to the certification.

### 2. **IFRS Certification and CS Qualification:**

**2.1. **Complementary Benefits:**

- **Enhanced Skill Set:** If you are pursuing a CS qualification, obtaining IFRS certification can complement your expertise by providing a deeper understanding of international financial reporting standards. This can be beneficial for roles that require cross-border financial reporting or dealing with multinational companies.

- **Career Opportunities:** Knowledge of IFRS can open up career opportunities in international finance, accounting, and audit, especially if you aim to work with global clients or companies listed on international stock exchanges.

**2.2. **Practical Application:**

- **CS Curriculum:** The CS curriculum may include some aspects of financial reporting, but IFRS certification can provide specialized knowledge and practical insights that go beyond the basics. It is especially useful if you plan to work in areas related to financial reporting, compliance, or auditing.

- **Industry Relevance:** Many companies and firms value professionals with expertise in IFRS due to its global applicability and the increasing convergence of international accounting standards. Having both IFRS certification and a CS qualification can make you more versatile and competitive in the job market.

**2.3. **Decision Making:**

- **Evaluate Goals:** Consider your career goals and the industries you are targeting. If you are aiming for roles that require detailed knowledge of international accounting standards, IFRS certification could be a valuable addition.

- **Cost vs. Benefit:** Weigh the cost of the certification against the potential benefits it may bring to your career. If the certification adds significant value to your professional profile and aligns with your career aspirations, it may be worth pursuing.

### **Summary:**

- **IFRS Certification from IACT:** Research the credibility and recognition of IACT’s certification in the market. Consider certifications from well-established organizations if you seek broader recognition.

- **Complementing CS:** IFRS certification can complement your CS qualification by enhancing your understanding of international standards and expanding your career opportunities, especially in global finance and accounting roles.

Before enrolling in any certification program, it’s advisable to review course details, seek feedback from professionals who have undertaken similar certifications, and evaluate how it aligns with your career objectives.
