18 May 2008 its a question of time series . when we use moving averges method then we will prepare 5 or 3 or 4 or 6 yearly moving averges then why should we left blank first two or three column . please tell its urgent please give me logic & idea.please please help me

19 May 2008 i think in this case, when you are taking 3 or 4 years' average, how can you get it for first year or second year or third year. you will have to start getting it after 2-3 years,

example:
year value 3 years'moving average
1 100 -
2 110 -
3 90 100
4 95 98.3
5 105 96.7

now, if you want to take 3 years' average, how will you calculate it for for first 2 years. so, you need to leave first 2 rows blank.
