Sir, As a result of switch in job, I received two form 16, one from my previous employer & another from my current employer. After calculating my total taxable income and tax deducted at source, i had some tax liability, which I tried to pay online as self assessment tax. But by mistake I paid some extra amount. My query is how can I get the extra paid amount a) in case when I have not filed the IT return yet and b) in case i have already submitted the IT return with this incorrect calculation without mentioning about the refund.

a) if you have not filed IT return yet, then first you have to file the return. Then only refund procedure will take place. b) You can file the revised return if you have filed the return in time.Department will grant the refund only if your IT Return will show the same.
