Mobile allowance excempt from Salary Income

25 February 2011 Dear All,

Sir, My friend drwan in consolidate salary Rs. 25000/- p.m. only Mobilie allowance given Rs. 500/- p.m.and no other allowance mentioned, he has paid rent Rs. 2500/-p.m. you can clim the HRA and Mobile Allownce

25 February 2011 In form No 16, if the company shows that the mobile allowance is wholly applied for the purpose of employment, then only the said allowance will not be added in his salary income.

HRA: He can not claim HRA, as it has not been mentioned in the certificate/details/16A given by the company. HRA should be separately mentioned by the company.
