24 February 2010 As per Section 17(2)
An Individual can claim medical expenses of himself and his family upto Rs.15000/-.
family includes:-
a)Spouse and children of the individual
b)parents, brothers, sisters and relatives of the individual wholly dependent on him.

My question is :-
If father is working(means not dependent) but mother is dependent then wheather an individual can claim Medical reimbursement?
Please tell me with legal lines or any case law

24 February 2010 first of all it is reimbursement of medical exp by employer which is exempt. not exp till 15000/- is exempt.
for your question I believe yes
as mother is dependent then son can calim medical reimbursement

24 February 2010 Agree with Mr.Prashanth
