08 July 2011 Please let me know meaning of Month for Calculation of Interest u/s 234A. If the Due Date for filling Return is 04/08/2010 for Asstt. Yr. 2010-11 and Original Return has been filled on 02-03-2011. Please let me know of how many months Interest would be chargeable. Month shall start from 04/08/2010 or 01/08/2010.Period of Interst sahll be from 04/08/2010 to 02/03/2011 (7 Month) or 01/08/2010 to 02/03/2011(8 Month)

in your case interest will be charged for the 9 months
