The error message "CERTIFICATE HAS NOT BEEN SELECTED" during the DSC (Digital Signature Certificate) registration on the MCA portal typically indicates that the MCA portal is not recognizing or accessing the DSC properly. Here’s a step-by-step guide to troubleshoot and resolve this issue:
### **Steps to Resolve DSC Registration Error:**
#### **1. Verify DSC Installation:** - **Ensure Installation:** Confirm that the DSC is correctly installed on your system. Open your browser and check if the DSC is listed among available certificates. - **Check Browser:** Make sure that the browser you are using has access to the DSC. Sometimes, the issue may be with the browser configuration.
#### **2. Check Java Configuration:** - **Java Settings:** Ensure that Java is properly configured to recognize and access your DSC. You may need to revisit the Java settings. - **Open Java Control Panel:** Go to Control Panel → Java → Security tab → Edit Site List. - **Add MCA Portal:** Ensure that `https://www.mca.gov.in` is added to the Exception Site List.
#### **3. Verify DSC Compatibility:** - **Certificate Compatibility:** Ensure that your DSC is compatible with the MCA portal. Verify the DSC with the certifying authority if needed. - **Browser Compatibility:** Check if the DSC is compatible with the browser you are using. Sometimes switching browsers (e.g., Internet Explorer, Chrome) can help.
#### **4. Update Java and Browser:** - **Update Java:** Make sure you are using the latest version of Java. Outdated Java versions can sometimes cause issues with DSC registration. - **Update Browser:** Ensure that your browser is up to date. An outdated browser might not support the latest DSC configurations.
#### **5. Clear Browser Cache:** - **Clear Cache:** Clear your browser cache and cookies to ensure that old or corrupted data is not causing the issue. - **Steps:** Go to browser settings → Privacy and Security → Clear browsing data → Check Cookies and Cached images and files → Clear Data.
#### **6. Ensure Correct DSC Selection:** - **Select Certificate:** When prompted, make sure you select the correct DSC from the list of available certificates. - **Restart Browser:** Sometimes, simply restarting the browser can refresh the list of available DSCs.
#### **7. Use Correct Digital Certificate Middleware:** - **Middleware Installation:** Ensure that the DSC middleware (drivers) is installed and functioning correctly. This middleware is required for the DSC to interact with your browser.
#### **8. Check for MCA Portal Maintenance:** - **Portal Maintenance:** Verify if the MCA portal is undergoing maintenance or updates, which might temporarily affect DSC registration functionality.
#### **9. Re-register DSC:** - **Re-register:** If none of the above steps work, you may need to remove the DSC from the browser and then re-register it.
#### **10. Contact Support:** - **Helpdesk:** Contact MCA helpdesk or the DSC provider for technical support. They can offer assistance specific to the DSC registration process. - **MCA Helpdesk Contact:** Look for the helpdesk number or email on the MCA portal under the “Contact Us” section.
By following these steps, you should be able to resolve the error related to DSC registration on the MCA portal.
