28 December 2013 difference between managing director & director.

28 December 2013 1. A "director" is a member of Board of Directors. He may be a full time director (getting salaries) or a part time director who attends meetings for DECISION MAKING (getting fixed sitting fees for every meeting).

(As you know; each company conducts meetings and decisions are taken on the basis of majority of votes in general meeting. Similarly company's important decisions pertaining to running of the business are taken by Board of Directors on the basis of majority).

2. A "managing director" is a full time Director (sitting in the Companies' Office - he gets remuneration for his services) and having full control over each and every activity of the company.
