22 October 2010 Can diwali hloiday is valid for claiming Leave Travel allowance. Pls guide on Leave travel allowance.

22 October 2010 To claim the LTA following conditions needs to be followed:

1. You must be on leave
2. You must have traveled
3. Cost of travel will be reimbursed
4. it should be max 2trip in block of 4 years
(current block is 2009-12)

Thats it. Rest about the rules of reimbursement is stated in income tax rules.
