in Karnataka- It is mandatory to remit contribution to the welfare fund at the rate of Rs 6:12 that is Rupess Six from each employees and Rs 12 from employers contribution (total Rs 18/-) including supervisory and management staff by the employers of all factories, plantations, workshops, motor, omnibus services coming under Karnataka Labour welfare Fund Act, 1965. This compulsory contribution shall be made along with a statement in Form 'D' prescribed under the Karnataka Labour Welfare Fund Act and Rules.Under Section-7 B any delay in payment of contribution and un-paid accumultions in violation of said provisions, will attract penal interest at the rate of 18% on the amount due. Collection of Contribution Fund: The Employers are required to pay contribution by 15th January every year at the rae of 6:12 ie., employee:employer by deducting Rs.6/- from the employee and employers contribution of Rs.12/-. Also the employer is required to deposit the unpaid accumulations, like unpaid bonus, wages after three years of their becoming due. Further the penalty and fines are to be paid to the fund immediately.
The payments to the fund may be made through S.B.I. account No.30428019173 and the same bank slip (ie., Challan) along with Form-D of the Board.
