13 March 2014 We employ labor for loading and unloading of goods and at the end of the month put a consolidated entry in accounts as labor charges. Are we required to pay serv tax on this.

15 March 2014 1. If the labour has been employed through a contractor then service tax is applicable.

2. If the labour has been directly employed, then service tax is NOT applicable.
