KYM in icai portal

This query is : Resolved

19 March 2023 I am holding cop. But due to some personal reasons I am not practicing for the last few years. Under what member status am I supposed to apply in KYM (know you member) in icai portal?

09 July 2024 If you are a Chartered Accountant (CA) and you are not currently practicing, you should apply for the "Non-practicing Member" status in the ICAI (Institute of Chartered Accountants of India) KYM (Know Your Member) portal. Here’s how you can proceed:

1. **Log in to ICAI Portal:** Visit the ICAI website and log in to your account using your credentials.

2. **Navigate to KYM Section:** Look for the KYM section or option on the ICAI portal. This is typically found under the "Members" or "My Account" section after logging in.

3. **Update Member Status:** Once you are in the KYM section, you should find an option to update your member status. Select "Non-practicing Member" or any similar designation that indicates you are not currently engaged in practice.

4. **Submit Documentation (if required):** Follow any instructions provided on the portal regarding documentation or verification that may be required to update your member status.

5. **Review and Confirmation:** Review your updated member status information to ensure it reflects accurately.

By updating your status to "Non-practicing Member," you notify the ICAI that you are not actively practicing as a Chartered Accountant currently. This status is appropriate if you are not involved in offering professional services related to accountancy, audit, taxation, or other areas covered under the CA profession.

If you encounter any specific queries or difficulties during the process, it's advisable to contact the ICAI support or member services for guidance tailored to your situation.
