Karnatak entry tax on direct import of elevator from china

17 September 2009 Hi All,

One of my client in Karnataka is planning to import a elevator directly from china (without using any intermediate). Whether Entry tax is payable in Karnataka on such imports...? If yes, at what rate...? If no, kindly provide the exemption notification number, if any.

17 September 2009 Dear Mr. Vivek,

As per my knowledge, in Karnataka Entry Tax is applicable for import of Elevator @ 4% as per Nofication No.FD109 CET 97(10), Bangalore dated 31st March 1997 w.e.f. 01.04.1997.
