11 December 2009 One of my client is having a groccers shop in the village and he is not maintaing any books and he wants to file his return. Should he proceed as properiter or HUF. And how and till when he can file his return for 2008-09. How and under what sections he should proceed? Thanking you in advance

12 December 2009 The facts are not clear whether the business was being run by father or he himself has established the business.

Income tax exemption limits are same for Individual and HUF

If he has established the business; then it is a proprietory concern.

First of all; take PAN number.

Return for a/c year 31 03 2009 can be filed upto 31 03 2011.
