A person, having income from a proprietory business, filed his Return of income for ay10-11 on 27th July'2010 through online and send his acknowledgement to IT department by post.After which some discrepencies were found in the return submitted. So can this return be revised under 139(5) ?

Yes... as the return was filed before due date, it can be revised u/s 139(5).
