Issue with SSP

This query is : Resolved

27 August 2022 I completed my 3 years articles in 2002 and was terminated but did not serve the excess leave of 15 days till now. I have completed my Group 1 of finals in 2009 but now the SSP portal is not allowing me to apply for Group 2 exams and saying non-compliance with article ship. Any suggestions would be helpful.

09 July 2024 It seems like you are facing an issue with the SSP (Self Service Portal) related to your CA exams due to non-compliance with article ship requirements. Here are some steps you can consider to resolve this issue:

### 1. Clearing Excess Leave:

- **Settle Excess Leave:** Since you mentioned you were terminated from articleship but did not serve 15 days of excess leave, you should reach out to your previous employer or firm to settle this issue. Discuss with them the possibility of completing the remaining leave or compensating for it in a mutually agreeable manner.

- **Obtain Confirmation:** Once the excess leave issue is resolved, ensure you obtain a letter or certificate from your previous employer stating that all requirements including excess leave have been settled and there are no outstanding issues related to articleship termination.

### 2. Communication with ICAI:

- **Contact ICAI:** Reach out to the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) through their official helpline or email to explain your situation. Provide them with details of your articleship completion, termination, and the steps you have taken to rectify any outstanding issues.

- **Submit Documents:** Submit the letter/certificate from your previous employer confirming the settlement of excess leave and any other relevant documents requested by ICAI to verify your articleship completion.

### 3. Clarification on SSP Portal:

- **Seek Clarification:** If the SSP portal is showing non-compliance with articleship as the reason for not allowing you to apply for Group 2 exams, seek clarification from ICAI on what specific actions or documents are required to resolve this issue.

- **Follow Up:** Follow up persistently with ICAI until the issue is resolved. Sometimes, administrative issues like this can be clarified through direct communication and providing necessary documentation.

### 4. Legal Assistance (if necessary):

- **Consider Legal Advice:** If you face challenges in resolving the issue through regular channels, consider seeking legal advice from a professional who specializes in matters related to ICAI regulations and articleship compliance.

### 5. Compliance and Future Steps:

- **Ensure Compliance:** Once the issue is resolved and ICAI confirms compliance with articleship requirements, proceed to apply for Group 2 exams through the SSP portal.

- **Maintain Records:** Keep copies of all communications, letters, and documents related to your articleship completion and resolution of any issues for future reference.

By addressing the excess leave issue with your previous employer, communicating effectively with ICAI, and providing necessary documentation, you should be able to resolve the non-compliance issue and proceed with your Group 2 exams smoothly. If needed, seeking guidance from a professional advisor or legal expert can provide further clarity and support in navigating this process.
