Is maturity of mutual fund are taxable?

This query is : Resolved

04 July 2014 I have purchased some mutual funds (tax savings & equity linked, close ended)three years ago. Now< I would like to know, is maturity of same mutual funds (principal along with bonus/increment) are taxable? If they are as follows
1. Tax saving Mutual Funds?
2. Other than Tax saving mutual funds?

waiting your valuable suggestion.

Thanks

04 July 2014 check the offer documents and if they mention that its exempted when it becomes matured u/s 10 then its exempted.

04 July 2014 if your MF is equity oriented then income is exempt. it is exempt u/s 10(32).

if it is debt fund related then you take index benefit and pay tax LTCG.
