Is Managing Director an employee.

Dear Respected Members,
I want to enquire whether a Managing Director of a Company shall be treated as employee of the private Company in which he holds majority of shares.
Further, no contract of employement has been entered with such Managing Director.
Experts views are solicited.

Managing Director can occupy DUAL position in Private Limited Company.....director as well as employee

it means he is an employee and not counted for total no. of members of private companay - section 2(68)

mostly, in Indian scenario..... directors possess dual role......director as well as employee.
