25 April 2012 My present salary is Rs.15000/p.m.My income is exactly the minimum taxable amount of income(Rs.1,80,000).
Is it mandatory for me to file income tax?

And also what may happen if I don't file income tax.

25 April 2012 You must be having Savings Account also. Interest Received on such a/c is also taxable.

It is better to file the return when your income is exactly Rs. 180000/-. There is no restriction for filing the return for the persons having below taxable income.
