03 October 2013 Dear Sir

I have joined for my CA IPCC Direct Entry and will be attempting for exam of 1st Group in Nov 2014. I have been working for almost 10 years now and I am taking a break in my job to pursue CA.

As I have not been in touch with accounts subject for past few years, Please suggest me whether going for coaching or self study would be better. I would also like to know whether to brush up with accounts P.C.Tulsian CPT book is enough ?

I would also like to know other subjects reference books which are good. Please suggest me a good schedule for study also along with the articleship.

Thanks
Devi

03 October 2013 Its very good to know that you are interested in pursuing ur career in CA after a long period of time...

Yes, you can do self study and can brush your Accounts knowledge...

P.C Tulsian undoubtedly a good book for Accounts, Even for IPCC level its very good..

For Taxation - Girish Ahuja a good book,

Cost-Fm - Saxena Vashist

Law- Munish Bhandari

Audit- Surbhi Bansal

ITSM- Dinesh Madan

However, Ins. Practice manuals and RTPs are must to score good marks...

Best wishes for your Successful Career...

03 October 2013 Self study can be done easily.
Stick to your Basics and as far as referece books is concern,
According to my view you should refer the following authour book's as I did from the same and secured very good marks in My exam.

Accounts - M.P Vijaykumar.
Law- G. K.Kapoor
Costing - Saxena Vashit
Audit- Surbhi Bansal Mam
Income Tax- T.N.Manoharan
ITSM- Dinesh Madan
