Please reply soon.............

08 August 2011 if a student does this then the marks which he got earlier will be taken as 0 and he will be allowed as a rank if he gets rank in the exam given by him latter

08 August 2011 What if such student fails in the second attempt?

01 August 2024 If a student passes Group-I in one attempt and then decides to attempt both groups in the subsequent attempt, the eligibility for a rank in IPCC (Intermediate) is subject to certain conditions set by ICAI. Here’s how it works:

### **Eligibility for Rank:**

1. **Attempting Both Groups:**
- To be eligible for a rank, a student must attempt both groups in the same attempt. This means that if you pass Group-I in one attempt and then attempt both groups (Group-I and Group-II) in the next attempt, you will be considered for a rank, provided you meet the following criteria:
- You must pass both groups in the same attempt.
- You need to score within the top ranks as specified by ICAI.

2. **Previous Marks in Group-I:**
- Your previous marks in Group-I will not affect your eligibility for a rank if you are attempting both groups together. Only your performance in the current attempt, where you are taking both groups, will be considered for ranking purposes.

### **If the Student Fails in the Second Attempt:**

1. **Impact on Ranking:**
- If you attempt both groups in the second attempt and fail, you will not be eligible for a rank. The rank is only awarded to students who pass both groups in the same attempt.

2. **Reattempting:**
- If you fail in the second attempt, you will need to reattempt the groups in future attempts. Your previous results in Group-I will still stand, but you will need to pass both groups in a subsequent attempt to be considered for a rank.

### **Key Points to Remember:**

- **Rank Eligibility:** To secure a rank, you must pass both groups in the same attempt. The rank is not awarded based on individual group performances across different attempts.
- **Reattempting:** If you don’t pass both groups in the same attempt, you will need to attempt again in future sessions. The performance in individual groups in previous attempts does not impact the current attempt for ranking purposes.

Make sure to regularly check the ICAI website or contact ICAI for any updates or changes to the ranking criteria as they may evolve.
