I have converted from PCC to IPCC on 14/09/2009. I have already completed 22 months of articleship. I have also done ITT & orientation programme. According to announcement on 4/09/09 students converted from pcc to ipcc were allowed to attempt in nov 09 exam. will such an exemption of relief of 9 months for converted students continue for may 2010 exam in respect of those who have already registered for PCC for more than 9 months? Please help as I am waiting for the announcement & there are many such students willing to give attempt of IPCC but they are unable to give due to restriction of 9 months period. Please help as you know exam forms are already out. Last date is 26/02/10. I am realy do not want to miss this attempt. As these are most important 6 months for me which I will lose if institute would not allow me.

Regarding the IPCC attempt and the 9-month restriction for students who converted from PCC to IPCC, here’s a detailed overview based on the information you provided and general guidelines:
### **Exemption and Attempt Eligibility**
1. **Conversion Relief:** The ICAI announced on 4/09/09 that students who converted from PCC to IPCC were allowed to attempt the November 2009 exams even if they had not completed the full 9 months of registration under IPCC. This was a special provision to accommodate the transition period.
2. **May 2010 Exam:** For the May 2010 exams, the standard rule generally applies, which requires students to complete a minimum of 9 months of registration under IPCC before they are eligible to sit for the exams. The exemption provided for November 2009 was a specific relief and may not automatically extend to future attempts.
3. **Current Situation:** Since you have already completed 22 months of articleship and have done the ITT and orientation programs, your eligibility for the May 2010 exams depends on the specific rules in place for that attempt. Generally, if the ICAI has not extended any special provisions or reliefs beyond the November 2009 attempt, you would need to comply with the standard 9-month rule.
### **Steps to Take:**
1. **Check ICAI Announcements:** Look for any new announcements or notifications from ICAI regarding the May 2010 attempt. Sometimes, ICAI provides updates or extensions for specific cases, and checking their official website or contacting them directly would be the best way to get the latest information.
2. **Contact ICAI:** Reach out to ICAI’s examination department for clarification. Provide them with your details and request confirmation on whether any special exemptions are applicable for the May 2010 attempt.
3. **Exam Forms and Deadlines:** Since the exam forms are already out and the last date is approaching, it is crucial to get official confirmation from ICAI as soon as possible to avoid any issues with your application.
4. **Preparation:** Continue your preparation as if you will be attempting the exams, but also be prepared to adjust based on ICAI’s final decision regarding eligibility.
