I am eligible for may 2017 attempt, and i am prepared for only one group. I am confused as to give 1st group in may or should i just skip it and work hard for both groups and take the next attempt (nov 2017) I have heard from many people that clearing both the groups together is a big deal. So shall i give one or both in the next attempt? Does skipping has negative points?

You seem be already giving up the battle even before entering the battlefield. This is not a good sign and you must reconcile that there is still two and a half month before you for the exams. If you are on negative footing, it can dent your confidence severely.
Now, what ever time is available in front of you, make best use of it rather than procrastinating your decision for next attempt. If you think writing both groups would be a herculean task at present, then go for one group and clear it with confidence. Yes, it is true writing both groups would at times help you set off marks in either of the groups, that is only if some one is well prepared. In your case, it is imperative for you to focus on either of the groups and write the examination and think positive.
Go with a right approach and success may follow you. Wish you best of luck.
