27 January 2014 Dear Sir,

i have taken Central Excise registration on 27-01-2014.
My question is
1. shall i continue the S L no from 287 i.e from existing bill book or new S L No starting from 1 ?
2. I am claiming SSI exemption, can i take the cenvat credit on earlier purchases i.e before date of Excise Registration

29 January 2014 If you will pay the duty then Sl. No will start from 001 and you should intimate to the department. If you will start the duty payment at that time you will avail the cenvat credit on laying stock. you should consult with any professional.
