INTERNAL AUDIT

This query is : Resolved

23 September 2008 Dear All

A company wants to appoint a Non-CA as Internal Auditor. As per ICAI's guidelines, Schedule to Chartered Accountans Act, and Companies Act, 1956, is it possible for a company?

thanks

23 September 2008 There is no statutory bar in appointing non-CA as at present. But such an appointment will be entirely for internal administration purposes.

23 September 2008 yes,it is possible.

23 September 2008 Only the restrictions and bindings are for the external/Statutory auditors

23 September 2008 It depends. Statutory auditors will rely on the work of the internal auditors. And also in the CARO they will report that internal audit system commensurate with its size and nature of its business.
