07 December 2013 A( INDIVIDUAL ) IT - Rs. 136007/- TDS - Rs. 93940/- Self assement tax paid on 02/05/2013 is Rs. 28900/- As per my calculation 234B is Rs. 3786/- As per ITR - 4 calculation 234B is Rs. 2072/- Can you guide on this?

07 December 2013 The reason may be-

1. You are calculating interest on 28900/- also, which you have paid on 02/05/2013.

.
2. Whereas, U/s 234B the amount paid has to be deducted for calculating the interest.
.
So in my view interest should be of Rs. 1757 only .
