Indirect taxes self study

This query is : Resolved

02 May 2013 Dear Expert(s),
I'm a CA-Final student my attempt is due in May 2014. For that I've started my preparations. I want to study Indirect Taxes myself without any help of classes.
Please suggest me how to go about with it.
1. Which book to be referred.
2. As the subject is amended regularly, what to do to cope up with amendments.
3. Some tips and valuable inputs from you to score higher marks in this subject.

02 May 2013 If you really want to do IDT self study then you should go for the book of Vandana Banger. It is s very famous book for CA final IDT.

To cope up with amendments, keep a close watch on the ICAI journals, RTPs issued by ICAi along with Practice test papers.

Regarding tips to prepare IDT go through the link below:

Thanks

02 May 2013 Thank you for your reply sir,

That would mean that I would not have to purchase a new book again ? ICAI's updates are enough, do they provide some problems over latest amendments ?

Also I'm confused as to this "Bangur" name some say Yogendra Bangur and today you said Vandana Bangur.

02 May 2013 As per my understanding yes you should purchase new book as there is no harm in it.
Further Vandana and Yogendra are joint authors of the book so there is nothing to worry.

All the best

04 May 2013 Thank you sir again.
