Income tax return filling

This query is : Resolved

06 July 2013 I had filled my IT return for Financial Year 2010-11 and 2011-12 on 18-january-2013.Immidiately I sent thru gen Post both the ACK (ITRV) to Bangalore CPC office. After some days I got a sms reg. non-receipt of ITRV. Again I sent both the ACK (ITRV)on 01.06.2013. But on 25.06.2013 my ITRV status (MY ACCOUNT IN INCOME TAX WEB SITE) said ITR REJECTED.

PLS. HELP ON THIS MATTER.

06 July 2013 I.e means your ITR-V received by the CPC after 120 days from the date of filing of return of income(uploaded of ITR) So CPC has rejected your ITR-V,Because it's not valid. So now you have another choice you has to file revise return for the same years and then send such revised return's ITR-V to the CPC reach by CPC with in 120 days from the date of upload then it will accept and start process of your return.

However as per section 139(5) revise return not possible and valid for the returns orginally filed u/s 139(4). But e-filing shall be accept for revising of the return at this time also, so file the revise returns u/s 139(5) and submit ITR-V of revised return to the CPC.

07 July 2013 Thanks Tirumala!!!

Sec 139(5) says revised return can be fillied within 1 year from the end of relevant assessment year.

Now I can file the return u/s 139(5) for FY 2011-12.

But for FY 2010-11 return, due date was 31-03-2013 (1 year from relevant AY 2011-12.

Pls suggest, how can I revise the return for FY 2010-11?

07 July 2013 I also said the same but e-filing site accepting the revised return eventhough due date is expired so file revise return and submit ITR-V again. Because of one of our client case is same as you we filed revised return and submitted and CPC has been accepted that. So i also suggested to you.

Good luck.....
