29 August 2013 I have file ITR-4 return for Ay 2009-10, 2010-11, 2012-13, 2013-14. But Ay 2011-12 Return not file. In this i file Ay-2011-12 return but they are not taken now, what can i do? if we not file Ay 11-12 return any problem arise?

29 August 2013 The time limit for filing return of AY 11-12 has expired and the return CANNOT be filed now.

In case you get a notice u/s 142(1) regarding non-filing of return, then you can file the return u/s 142(1).

Penalty of Rs, 5,000 may be levied u/s 271F.

29 August 2013 Penalty will be initiated by assessing officer by serving a notice in case he wants to levy penalty.

However, penalty may not be levied if return was not filed for a valid reason.

29 August 2013 You CANNOT file return for AY 11-12 now. It is time barred.

Return can be filed only if notice u/s 142(1) is served on you.
