07 September 2011 my Query is..

i had FDR with sbi bank and they had deducted tds @20% on interest income in A.Y.2011-12. The TDS they deducted is not showing in my 26AS. I am house wife and have no other source of income. Can i claim refund of this TDS ? And how should i file my ITR - ie manually or online. Plz guide me.

07 September 2011 As per your statement it seems that you have not provided PAN to the Bank & the bank has deducted the TDS @ 20%. In such a case you should approach the concerned bank's branch and provide the PAN to bank and requestfor filing the TDS Correction return for the relevant period. Mean while you can file your ITR as per your option (e-filing/physical filing), But you will get the refund after TDS correction filed by the bank incorporating your PAN in their TDS correction Return.

07 September 2011 First you produce Enlarged Photocopy of PAN card to Bank and make request to resubmit, revised, correction Upload e TDS return at NSDL.Then PAN ledger will create as 26AS.After that you may file Income tax Return From No ITR1 Sugam in Hardcopy or via Eletronic media.Remember that to mention correct Bank A/c with MICR code.To make update correspondence address at Income tax Database.
