in case of loss for a.y.2007-2008

15 December 2009 the assessee firm voluntarily filed its return for a.y 2007-08 on 31.10.2007.further a revised return was filed on 17.03.2009 before assessment completed.i want to know that it will be considered as valid return.please give me some case law which is favourable for my case.

15 December 2009 If the case is of tax audit; then you could validly file return a revised return upto 31 03 2009 if assessment is not finalized.

If you filed late than due date; then revise return cannot be filed.
