03 August 2010 In my view Vijaykumars book is very good and very comprehensive.

If u want to decide between Dolphy & Rawat then go for Rawats book as it is exam oriented.

Ravi please first confirm whether IFRS is applicable for Nov 2010 exam or Accounting standards. Then comment on book to be referred.

b4 posting query here, I called CA institute asking on IFRS applicability...they are not sure.

03 August 2010 IFRS is not applicable to India till 31.03.2011 and till now the Indian version of IFRS has not been released by ICAI. Hence the same as it is cannot be applicable in November 2010.

So the first F. Y. for which IFRS would be applicable to Indian companies would be from April 2011 - March 2012.

So AS IS APPLICABLE FOR NOVEMBER 2010.

03 August 2010 Dear Ravi
It is just a comparision between Indian Accounting Standards and other standards in the world. It is for comparision purpose only. In the Accounting standard book itself at the end of each standard there is mention of comparision with international standards and IFRS is not applicable.

Indian IFRS has not even seen the sunlight as yet. Its still under wraps. How can the same be even applicable.

03 August 2010 okk dear Aditya ji, i corrected myself that IFRS not applicable in Final-New course in nov.2010 attempt. Accounting Standards will be applicable in final new course as well as final old course.
