Hi I have problem in applying online for the IEC. I wanted to Apply as an individual but the application require firm details and certain feild are marked with * which says are mandatory. Could any one guide me for getting an IEC (for Individual), wherein I have Pan No. and Savings account. I intend to startup trading so once I reach to a slab of VAT or sales tax I would take the same. Pls guide.

Procedure to fill the application form: (a) (i) While filling the form, in the beginning applicant will be asked for his/her/applicant entity’s PAN and e-mail and mobile number of the person submitting the application. Once the same is submitted, separate Registration Codes will be sent on the mobile no. and email address indicated by the applicant. This will enable the applicant to fill Part B and C. (ii) Applicant may save the application form and view/edit/fill the same later. For re-logging into the saved application form, applicant has to fill in the PAN, e-mail and mobile number and fill in the separate Registration Codes sent on the mobile no. and email to view/edit proceed further to fill the application form. (b) Fill the requisite details in Part B and C of the application form. (c) (i) Read Declaration/Undertaking as in Part D carefully. Tick the box underneath Declaration/ Undertaking as token of having read and accepted it. Details of the signatory applicant are mandatory and must be filled in thereafter. (ii) After filling in the details of the signatory applicant, upload photograph and requisite documents in digital format (JPG/GIF)i) In Part E, review the application form and check to ensure that documents uploaded are legible. (ii) Pay application processing fee of Rs.250/- through Net Banking Account with any one of the following banks: i. HDFC Bank ii. ICICI Bank iii. Bank of India iv. State Bank of India v. Central Bank of India vi. Punjab National Bank vii. IDBI viii. Axis Bank ix. Union Bank of India x. Oriental Bank of Commerce(iii) Select concerned Jurisdictional Regional Authority to submit the form. (iv) Applicant having digital signature can digitally sign and submit the form. If applicant does not possess digital signature, following steps are required to be followed: Take a print out of the duly filled application form. Put signature before name of the applicant, below Declaration/Undertaking in Part D. Upload the duly signed declaration form. Submit the printed and duly signed application form in the office of the concerned Jurisdictional Regional Authority (RA) through post or by hand.* (*Please Note: No documents need to be attached with the application form. Only a printout of application filed and submitted online, needs to be signed and sent/submitted to RA’s office.) (C) On submission, confirmatory e-mail/sms of receipt would be sent on registered e-mail address/ mobile number. (D) After processing of e-IEC application (i) applicant would be informed through e-mail that his application for e-IEC has been approved and a computer generated e-IEC is available on the DGFT website. By clicking on “Application Status” after having filled and submitted the requisite details in “Online IEC Application” webpage, applicant can view and print his e-IEC. Or (ii) a computer generated rejection letter would be sent at the e-mail address of the applicant. If applicant desires to apply afresh, he/she may do so after repeating the process as above and by paying Rs 500/- as application processing fee.

Rameshji I dont have any firm. But I do have a savings account and individual pan Card. Now in the Online Form what should I fill as Concern type.
neither you are director a company nor partner of a firm.
before fill the firm nature mention is mandatory in form.
