An assessee stays in rent free accomodation provided by his employer. His family stays in rented premises at a different city. He gets HRA from his employer.
Can he claim exemption u/s 10(13A) for rent paid for his family?

01 December 2009 No, the asseessee cant get HRA exemptions for rent paid for his family staying in a different city i.e. different from his work of place.
