04 January 2012 Hi,

I own a flat and live along with my parents.
This flat is regd in my name. Till FY 2009-2010 I claimed excemption on the home loan taken for the purchase of this flat.

Now the home lon is closed

How can i claim HRA excemption, if i transfer the ownership of this flat to my parent name would i be able to claim HRA Excemption.

I receive Rs.18000 as HRA

04 January 2012 Even if you transfer ownership to parents and if u dont pay actual rent to parents u can not claim hra.
