31 March 2009 Can a someone claim HRA on a basis that he is paying rent to his father (Property is in name of his father).

31 March 2009 yes, make sure you do following things:

01 Rent agreement
02 paid rent on monthly basis from son's bank to fathers bank a/c
03 father show that income in his income tax return.
