hi, my uncle got a notice from the department saying that he has to file his return of income for AY 2010-11 through e-file, he is a principal of government school in andhra. So what needs to be done in this case? thanks

A principal has to follow the tax-principles too. . If the department's notice is saying to file a return, you may say to your uncle to prepare for the details and file the return with the officer of the Department, who has served notice by conveying also that e-filing for AY 2010-11, "is not possible sir, Hence -this Manual Return."

The notice is clearly saying that, has to e-file the return. Extension of time limit for filing of ITR-V forms for AY 2010-11, AY 2011-12 and AY 2012-13 has also been given. So we have tried to file the rectification through online but in the dept site there is a mis match while i am entering the notification number. So what needs to be done to resolve this issue?

Please quote the section of IT Act, 1961 mentioned in the notice. . Filing of ITR-V is an additional exercise which has to be done after the drill (i.e. e-filing of the return). . The date in reference to ITR V has been extended for those who could not file ITR V of AY 2010-11,2011-12 and 2012-13 in prescribed time of 120 days. .
