before you start going through the books., first take look at the syllabus. Go through past few years' examination pattern. That would give you a fair idea of the important chapters (though the weightage keeps changing, more or less some topics always find dominance in exams).
If you have not taken coaching, then collate the required supplementary books. ICAI material can be bulky and confusing on occasions. So it is advisable that you refer to other authors. Once you finalize the books, assign specific study hours and revision hours. Keep atleast a day a week free to relax and make sure that you take adequate rests on the other days too. Your mind needs to be fresh when you study.
It is advisable to combine one theoretical subject with one practical. This helps in keeping boredom away. For example you can club accounts and audit together. FM can be clubbed with IT and Costing can be clubbed with SM.
For taxes, make sure that you do remember atleast the important sections, such as the disallowance sections 40, 43 etc, Capital gains- 47, 48, 50c etc etc Please follow RTP and amendments. they give you free marks!!
Remain focused, don't use CAclub too much - it is a very useful to resolve doubts but can be bad as an addiction!!
