Dear Sir, I have completed MCOM and working as an accountant in a private limited company since last 6 years in account payables department. Presently I am doing CMA-inter from Institute of Cost Accountants Of India; I have cleared Gr- I in June’2014 & will be appearing for Group II in Dec’2014. I am interested in Taxation & would like to make a career in taxation field. I have been not transferred to taxation department of our company on the ground that I do not have any experience in the field nor any professional degree. Hence I require you help.
Pls. guide for-
1. How to get experience in Taxation field.
2. Is there any other specialize course which will be helpful to make career in Taxation.
Unless you do it practically u wont get Tax exposure/experience, you may consider switching job to get tax exposure or you may start part time practice with TRP.
You may consider short term diploma in taxation from good college also, it is offered by welingkar college.

As per my opinion you are on right track with gaining working experience and doing a professional course like CMA. I would not suggest u to leave ur present job. All I can say wait for the right opportunity and till than keep reading and understanding taxation.
You may join some work on part time basis for free or for less money which offer u tax work. Further focus on CMA preparation.
1. I am ready to work part time for less money to gain experience in taxation, but pls. let me know where do I have to work ie. With A CA, or CMA or CS or in a company.
2. Is there any website/contact through which I can get a part time job in taxation field in Mumbai (Ghatkopar).
