HI...if the gross total income of the landlord of a house property exceeds Rs. 10 lakhs whether he has to collect service tax from his tenants while receiving rent. is the tenant liable to pay service tax to the landlord. what are the obligations of the landlord and tenant?

Rent from residential property, please check the service tax rules from 1/7/2012. Rent for commercial property, the negotiations between the landlord and tenant will play a major role whether or not tenant to pay service tax or not.
