20 March 2008 If the dividend is declared after the bonus issue of the shares then on what amount of shares the dividend will be declared in the absence of any information given in the example.

20 March 2008 Only on the old shares.

21 March 2008 Agarwaljee its simple and clear...Hope you know Companies Act,Clearly says you cannot declare bonus inlieu of Dividend..and Secoandly if Dividend is declared After bonus shares than you will be get a dividend on your bonus shares too because for dividend bonus right issue..anything is depend on the Record Date..For ex Company declare bonus share 1:1 Due to that your shares will be double i.e 100 to 200.After that company declares dividend.. Offcourse they need to allowance particular Record Date also..As on record date you have 200 shares in your portfolio... So you will be get a dividend on 200 shares..

21 March 2008 Dividend is to be declared on paidup value of Shares and hence dividend will be given on Bonus shares too.
