You can start your own practice after having practical training under either Income Tax Practioner or a CA who is engaged in Income-Tax Cases. You should devote at least two years for this.
Right now you can apply in Form No. 39 (See Income Tax Rules) to the CIT to have a recognition of Income Tax Practioner (ITP).For this no fee is required to be paid.
If your law part is really strong; you can apply for job also in companies.
By that time you should regularly read Current Tax Reporter and Tax Tribunal Journal etc. to update your knowledge about taxation. You should also refer Income-Tax Rules to know about forms which are filed. Be a member of Income-Tax Bar Association in your city.
Be in touch with the subject all the time.
At initial level; it might be possible that the trainer may not give much/any money to you; but take it as you have nothing to pay for training whereas you paid fees in the colleges etc. to acquire degrees.
The practical training will open new avenues for your career.
