15 February 2009 Dear Friend, i can only tey to solve some of your quesries
1. total duration including articleship is approximately 4-5 years, if you get passed in first attempt in both CA Inter and CA Final

15 February 2009 2. You can apply even after 12th if want to go by Entrance exam, otherwise after graduation, you can directly enter into PCC (CA Inter).

15 February 2009 3. Exams are conducted after every six months, i.e May and November (in first two weaks)

15 February 2009 4. Answer to this question depends on situation as given in Answer no. 2

15 February 2009 5. Study material is provided by ICAI after u get admission. You need to purchase help materials, i.e various books and other materials.

15 February 2009 6. Total cost depends on how many books you purchase, and how many coachings you take for study. ICAI fees is not much.

15 February 2009 7. Depends how systematic you are in study. Atleast 12-13 hours study with single mind devotion is required to qualify in first attempt.

15 February 2009 8. I dont think there is any exemption, but pls confirm this thing from ICAI itself.

15 February 2009 9. Articleship is now of 3 and half years. You will have to leave job as this is the full time articleship.

15 February 2009 10. This course is different from CWA or CS, as this is mainly for Accounting,Audit and Taxation professionals, while CWA is mainly for Costing and CS is mainly for Corporate Law professionals.

I hope i could answer your questions. Any further clarification needed is always welcome. Please dont mind that i gave you answer in saperately, because question was too long.

15 February 2009 Thanx a lot tarun.
i wish to know what kind of salary/stipend does one get during articleship and what is precisely done during that?

could u give me some idea about the cwa, i mean the same questions, :)

does it also require me to leave job and is its timeframe similar?

for an engineer wud it be better to go for cwa?

i find the overseas managerial accounting courses is lot shorter say the CMA, isnt it?
what are the pros and cons of doing it?
i hope it doesnt require u too leave job?

awaiting reply,
regards

15 February 2009 Sorry dear, I dont hv much knowledge about CWA or CMA as I am a CA in practice, and qualified around 4 years back, so out of touch from other courses. But yes, in CA you will not get much stipend. The ICAI rates are 1000/-, 1250/- and 1500/- in Ist, IInd and IIIrd year respectively. I hv heared from someone that in CWA also, you need to do internship for 1 year. But pls confirm the same from ICWAI. Timeframe is almost similer.

15 February 2009 thanx a ton :)
