One of our customers girl is getting married.His friend wants to gift newly weds few lakh rupees.The money is given in from cheque, so it is taxable or non taxable. in brides hand.& what is the upper limit in marriage cash/cheque gifts.

Gifts received in marriage are exempt from tax. Gift can be received in any form that does'nt matter
