05 March 2014 Yes, if the PAN is not provided by the transporter.

05 March 2014 okay, I need a clarification for the below mentioned situation.

My client is using an agent for transporting their material parts for job work to Bangalore. And while making payment to the agent they are deducting TDS @ 2%.

Is this correct?

If the PAN is not provided than TDS is to be deducted at 20%
