Hi I am a salaried person earning Rs 25,000 per month in a BPO as technical specialist.I got a contract from another BPO related to recruitment.They will release the payment in Cheque so my query is as I am a salaried person Can I take cheque in my name?If yes then what category of income would it fall into?What kind of taxes I need to pay?The amount I would be getting is in the range of Rs 3Lakhs to 4Lakhs.THANKS

The amount will be taxable as business income.

Income from business. You can receive provided contract of employment does not restrict you from carrying any such activity
