a trust based in india wants to receive foreign donations. what permissions r required under d income tax act ?

For getting permission to receive foreign donation you shall have to get permission from Ministry of Home Affairs as per Foreign Contribution and Regulation Act.

You have to apply to Chief Commissioner of Income Tax for getting registration under section 12A so that you get the exemption on all of your donation received.
