I disagree with Aditya. There is no such circular. In CIRCULAR NO. 03 / 2009, DATED 21-5-2009 it is said that an assesse can file the return in following manner :
Sub-rule (3) of the said rule provides that return of income/ fringe benefits can be furnished in any of the following manners:-
(i) furnishing the return in a paper form; (ii) furnishing the return electronically under digital signature; (iii) transmitting the data in the return electronically and thereafter submitting the verification of the return in Form ITR-V; (iv) furnishing a bar-coded return in a paper form.

Dear Soniji You can try to get the digital signature in case of first return of a company or firm and you will get the below error: Error in registration of your Digital Certificate Validation Error You must correct the following error(s) before proceeding: 1. Digital Certificate is not issued in the name of the company. 2. Your Name in the Certificate does not match with the Key Persons/Partner Member Information if filed earlier 3. If you are filing the first return of the Company/Firm/Trust, you have to submit ITR-V only.
That is why i was telling to file without digital signature and send to bangalore.
To tackle with such error you need to upload the credentials of the digital signature at income tax portal. credentials means .pfx file or USB token credential file at income tax portal.
The reason behind such digital signature is that the file is either not uploaded or it might be not properly uploaded.
