Filling of Income tax Return

23 June 2010 Mr. A is Having TDS certificates of Rs. 50,000/- for the A.Y. 2007-08 but he has not filed his income tax return for that period.

Is it possible to file the return for that A.Y.?

He is realy to pay Penalty of Rs. 5000/- along with Interest, if any, as applicable..?

23 June 2010 Yes it is possible to file the ITR. Penalty u/s 271F is levied by the AO when there is a tax liability but if there is any refund then penalty may not be imposed.
