Fdi in nbfc

16 November 2011 We are in the process of incorporating a NBFC in which one of the subscriber is NRI(Indian citizen buy having NRI status)


Is there any restriction in FDI in NBFC.

As far as my knowledge goes there is no sectoral cap in FDI in NBFC. can anyone pls confrim.

Although 100% FDI is permitted in NBFC, there are minimum capitalisation norms which you need to take care of. Hope you must be well aware of the same.

19 November 2011 I am so thankful to you sir. I agree with you it is 0.5 million usd where FDI is upto 50%. But sir 100% FDI is allowed in NBFC for only certain part of NBFC actitiies mainly in advisory kind of services. But I want to do finanial or loan business with FDI can I do it.

19 November 2011 Yes. Financing is covered within permissible activities. You need to adhere to NBFC regulations in India.
